Advanced Multiplayer & Social Guide: Play Together
Heartopia’s multiplayer mode lets you farm, fish, explore, and build together with friends. This advanced guide covers everything beyond the basics — co-op strategies, trading economics, guild management, cross-platform play, and making the most of social features.
Multiplayer Modes Recap
If you’re new to multiplayer, start with our Basic Multiplayer Guide. Here’s a quick recap:
| Mode | Players | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Visiting | 1-4 | Visit a friend’s town, no impact on your world |
| Co-op Farm | 1-4 | Work together on a shared farm |
| Party Quest | 2-8 | Team up for special multiplayer-only quests |
| Festival Events | 2-20 | Participate in seasonal events with other players |
Advanced Co-op Strategies
Shared Farm Optimization
When playing co-op on a shared farm, divide roles for maximum efficiency:
The 4-Player Dream Team
| Role | Responsibilities | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Farmer | Planting, watering, harvesting | Players who like routine |
| Fisher | All fishing + fish cooking | Players with patience |
| Forager | Wood, stone, ore, bug catching | Players who love exploring |
| Social / Cook | NPC gifts, cooking, quest turn-ins | Players who enjoy variety |
With this setup, a 4-person co-op group can generate 3-4x the Gold of a solo player in the same amount of time.
Co-op XP Sharing
- Hobby XP: Each player earns their own XP for activities they participate in
- Farming XP: Only the planter gets XP. Take turns planting to share XP evenly.
- Quest XP: All party members get full quest XP
- Achievements: Each player unlocks achievements independently
XP Tip: If one player is lower level, have them do the planting/fishing to catch up faster.
Co-op Stamina Tips
- Stamina is individual — each player has their own stamina pool
- Take turns doing high-stamina tasks (chopping, mining)
- Cook together — one person cooks while others gather ingredients
- Share stamina food (but only between trusted friends!)
Trading System Guide
Trading Basics
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| How to Trade | Visit a friend’s town, open trade window |
| Trade Limit | 10 items per trade, unlimited trades per day |
| Gold Trading | Yes, direct Gold transfers allowed |
| Trade Confirmation | Both players must confirm (prevents scams) |
| Trade History | Last 20 trades logged in your journal |
Item Value Reference Guide
Use this as a baseline when trading with friends:
| Item Category | Base Value (NPC Store) | Player Trade Value |
|---|---|---|
| Common crops | 5-25 Gold | 3-20 Gold |
| Rare crops | 30-100 Gold | 25-80 Gold |
| Common fish | 10-25 Gold | 8-20 Gold |
| Rare fish | 50-100 Gold | 40-80 Gold |
| Legendary fish | 200-500 Gold | 150-400 Gold |
| Common bugs | 5-15 Gold | 3-12 Gold |
| Rare bugs | 65-100 Gold | 50-80 Gold |
| Basic materials | 3-20 Gold | 2-15 Gold |
| Rare materials | 50-300 Gold | 40-250 Gold |
| Crafted furniture | 80-1,500 Gold | 60-1,200 Gold |
| Event-exclusive items | N/A | Highly variable |
General Rule: Player-to-player trades are usually 70-80% of NPC store price. The seller gets more than selling to NPC, the buyer pays less than buying from NPC — everyone wins.
Safe Trading Tips
- Only trade with friends you trust: The trade system is player-policed.
- Always double-check: Verify the items and Gold before confirming.
- No “trust trades”: Don’t give items first and expect payment later — always trade simultaneously.
- Take screenshots: If a trade goes wrong, you have evidence for support.
- Beware of “too good to be true”: If someone offers a legendary fish for 10 Gold, it’s probably a mistake or a scam.
