Companion pets are one of the most popular activities in Heartopia. Once you reach the required levels, you can adopt fluffy cats and dogs, build custom play enclosures, and raise your friendship status.

Unlocking Pet Care

Pet Care is an advanced hobby that becomes available later in the progression track:

1. Reach D.G. Member’s Guild Level 12: Pet care unlocks automatically upon hitting level 12.
2. Talk to Oak-Oak: Visit Oak-Oak (the resident veterinarian NPC) in the forest reserve to unlock the Pet Care journal.
3. Buy a Pet Box: Purchase a Cat Clowder Box or Dog Kennel from Oak-Oak’s shop.

Grooming & Friendship Mechanics

• Cat Care: Feed them tuna snacks, use the brush item to groom them daily, and play with the laser pointer. Cats prefer sleeping in sunny window spots.
• Dog Care: Play fetch using tennis balls in open fields, walk them on a leash around town, and feed them kibble. Dogs love swimming in shallow streams.
• Oak-Oak’s Path: Completing veterinarian requests rewards friendship points. At level 5 friendship with Oak-Oak, you unlock the Giant Fluffy Cat Bed blueprint.
