Getting Started

Q: Is Heartopia free to play?

Yes. Heartopia is completely free to play with optional in-app purchases. You can experience all content — hobbies, multiplayer, housing, events — without spending real money. Premium purchases are limited to cosmetic bundles and convenience items.

Q: What platforms is Heartopia available on?

iOS (App Store), Android (Google Play), Steam (PC), and Nintendo Switch. Cross-platform play is supported with an XD Account. See our Cross-Platform Guide for setup details.

Q: Do I need internet to play?

An internet connection is required for multiplayer, code redemption, and cloud saves. Single-player activities (farming, fishing, cooking) can be played offline, but progress syncs when you reconnect.

Q: How big is the game download?

Approximately 2.5 GB on mobile and 4 GB on Steam. Additional seasonal event assets may download automatically (200-500 MB each).

Q: Is there an age rating?

Level up your D.G. Member’s Guild. Plot 3-4 at Lv.4, plot 5 at Lv.6, plot 6 at Lv.8. Each plot costs Gold after unlocking. See Housing Guide.

Daily Resident Requests are your primary XP source. Complete all available requests every day. Also check for achievement bonuses and seasonal event XP rewards.

Q: How do I unlock the Alchemy Station?

Reach D.G. Lv.7 and complete the “Mysterious Ingredients” quest in Mystic Grove. Full details in the Alchemy Station Guide.

Q: How do I unlock the Museum?

Economy & Money

Q: What’s the fastest way to earn Gold?

Q: What are Wishing Stars and how do I get them?

Wishing Stars are gacha currency used at the Wishing Fountain. Sources: daily tasks, hobby level-ups, event shops, redeem codes, and D.G. milestones. F2P players earn ~40-65 per month. See Wishing Fountain Guide.

Q: What are Moonlight Crystals?

Social & Multiplayer

Q: How do I add friends?

Get their UID → Friends list → Add Friend → enter UID → spend 1 Wishing Star. See Multiplayer Guide.

Q: Can I play with friends on different platforms?

Yes — cross-platform multiplayer is supported. All players need an XD Account linked. See Cross-Platform Guide.

Q: How many people can be in one multiplayer session?

Up to 4 players per session. You can co-build, trade, fish, and complete cooperative quests together.

Q: Can I trade items with other players?

Q: Is there romance or marriage in Heartopia?

Q: How do I catch the Moonlight Swordfish?

Fish at Deep Ocean (coastal docks) at night (8 PM - 4 AM) during Rain or Storm weather. Use a Level 4+ Fishing Rod and Mermaid Fish Attractor. See Fishing Guide.

Q: How do I find the Storm Phoenix?

Photograph the Storm Phoenix at the Mountain Peak during thunderstorms. Extremely rare weather (~2% chance). See Bird Watching Guide.

Q: How do I catch the Rainbow Stag Beetle?

Q: How do I upgrade my house?

Talk to Builder Bob at D.G. Lv.5. Upgrades require Gold, materials, and crafting blueprints. House has 5 levels (Thatch → Manor). See Housing Guide.

Tools & Equipment

Q: How do I upgrade my tools?

Visit Ka Ching’s shop or specific NPCs (Blanc for Watering Can, etc.). Upgrades require Gold, materials, and minimum hobby levels. See Tools & Equipment Guide.

Q: My tool broke — what do I do?

Broken tools don’t disappear — they lose all effectiveness until repaired. Use a Repair Kit (purchasable or craftable) or visit the shop. See Tools Guide.

Q: What tool should I upgrade first?

Fishing Rod (unlocks rare fish) → Watering Can (saves stamina) → Bug Net → Axe/Pickaxe → Camera. ROI analysis in the Tools Guide.


Technical Issues

Q: My game keeps crashing — help!

Q: Do crops die if I don’t water them?

No — crops don’t die, but growth pauses until watered. You can leave for days and resume where you left off. Rain auto-waters all crops.

Q: Are there secret areas?
